Series Guide

The first Wexford series was commissioned following the success of the four-part pilot in the summer of 1987. Graham Benson, head of drama at TVS, appointed Neil Zeiger as series producer; Brian Bennett was hired to compose the music and Mary McMurray directed the first title - A Guilty Thing Surprised - in late January 1988.

The series was originally transmitted in 50 minute, Sunday evening slots on the ITV network; with each title being shown over two-or-three episodes.
